Development of Career Management Policy and Resource Center

Company: Large multinational corporation

Goals:

  • Articulate company’s career management philosophy and policy to enhance employee retention and engagement;
  • Bring existing disparate career management resources under one cohesive framework;
  • Create career management resource center on corporate intranet

Process:

  • Identify individuals from all areas of HR, the line, and intranet development function  to form Career Management advisory council
  • Define company’s career management philosophy; specify what the company will do and what the employee will be responsible for; define ideal set of employee career management resources
  • Identify existing career management resources and gaps
  • Develop intranet site to provide employees with easy access to career management resources
  • Define plan to develop or acquire additional career management resources as desired

Deliverables:

  • Corporate Career Management philosophy and policy
  • New career management intranet site, including on-line resource center
